The digital marketing market is booming, with numerous opportunities and challenges.

Every day, new companies providing digital marketing services appear and so many others are adapting to serve this market.

Here at Websites Are Us we are pleased to work with several digital agencies. We see the challenges they face to deliver results and deliver value to customers.

In view of this scenario, we wanted to go deeper and understand the reality of digital agencies.

Thus, the idea arose to do research on the Panorama of digital agencies in London, together with Resultados Digitais and with the support of Opinion Box.

We investigated the market for digital marketing agencies in London, providing an overview of practices, beliefs, knowledge and challenges.

Research objectives

With this study on the panorama of digital agencies, we seek to understand:

  • What services are offered,
  • Whether or not they use these services to attract customers to themselves,
  • What is the impact of adopting digital marketing on financial return and retention,
  • What are the advantages and challenges in offering digital services and,
  • What are the differences between digital and traditional agencies.

Research development

The process of developing research on the Panorama of digital agencies in London started on August 25, when we, Websites Are Us and Digital Results, started our first draft of the form.

In the following weeks, we refined our hypotheses and questions and counted on the support of the Opinion Box to reinforce our research.

Our final questionnaire had 33 questions. On September 23 we sent it by email to agencies all over London and published it on social networks.

Over the course of 10 days, more than 1100 people from branches across London participated in our survey and helped us bring these results to you.

We finished the survey on the 2nd of October and, for almost 4 weeks, we worked as a team to analyze the data and produce the complete report, diagrammed with great love by our Design team.

Results

Analyzing the responses of more than 1140 participants, we found that more than 90% of the agencies responded that they provide Digital Marketing services, however only 43% define themselves as digital agencies.

Almost 52% of the agencies that provide digital marketing services said that customers stay longer within the company and 64% said that the financial results improved or improved a lot when they started offering digital marketing services.
