what it is, what the strands and the main tools – WAU
The Adobe package won the world of technology and today it is indispensable in the lives of professionals from various areas. In today’s post, you will find out what the main tools that are part of the group are and what they are for!
Whether in the description of the offer of a job vacancy, be it a college computer or even at home, it is possible that the expression “Adobe package” has already come to mind.
The entire suite of multifunctional tools has been developed since the mid-1980s by Adobe Inc., which has since headed for success with regard to software with a focus on multimedia and creativity.
What many people may not know, however, is that there are many other names that go along with Photoshop and Illustrator.
In today’s post we will highlight the main tools of the Adobe package, in addition to the best known, and show how they can be used in practice!
What is the Adobe package?
Adobe is an American multinational founded in 1982 in California.
Like tech giants like Apple, Adobe was also designed within a garage. In the same year of its founding, Steve Jobs himself asked to buy the company for a value of 5 million dollars.
Initially, the company’s focus was on development of printing software connected to a computer, technology extremely scarce at the time.
Adobe knew how to reinvent itself and move forward with the advancement of technologies: they took advantage of the printing boom, were very important in the process of digitizing documents and, currently, are riding the wave of 3D creations and 100% digital productions.
The Adobe package is nothing more than the set of software developed by the company. They offer features that go from end to end, such as the creation, editing and post-production of videos and images, for example.
The tools are paid for and can be purchased individually or together, but there are some free features, such as Acrobat Reader.
One of the main advantages of the package, in addition to the indisputable quality, is the possibility of migration.
It is very simple to transfer different files from Adobe’s own tools, which makes the results much more harmonious and visually attractive.
In addition, that inconvenience when transferring images, videos or any other type of document from one platform to another (which involve problems such as slowness) are eliminated exponentially.
Who is it for?
As it was possible to perceive, Adobe developed a series of software capable of optimizing services from end to end.
In addition to offering solutions that encompass the same area of expertise (designers, for example), when we think of tools in a unique way, the range of possibilities increases much more.
For example: Adobe Acrobat can be recommended for absolutely anyone in the world who wants to read a PDF file.
Dimension, in turn, can be used by a carpenter who wants to develop his furniture in a digital version before making production, or the product engineer of a large beverage factory.
Therefore, it is not possible to standardize the indications of use: when analyzing tool by tool, we found that many more people than we think can benefit from the Adobe Package!
What are the main tools?
Now that you know what the Adobe package is and its main indications, it’s time to get to know the most famous tools around the world.
Photoshop, one of Adobe’s most popular tools today, was launched in 1990 with the aim of help professionals to manipulate images from previously innovative tools.
At that time, the program’s goal was to provide photo editing that would later be used in printed material. There was another option, also from Adobe, for online content.
Since its launch almost 30 years ago, the program has undergone numerous updates that have followed the evolution of computers, smartphones and the Internet: today you can edit the light of a simple image or develop the entire visual part of an advertising campaign, for example .
Lightroom is another Adobe tool with a focus on image manipulation. It offers complete solution for photographers, from organizing images into folders to editing and post-production.
The main difference between the two tools is that Photoshop allows editing the images directly in the pixels, making definitive changes in their essence.
Lightroom, in contrast, generates information so that the photo is “masked” with another color, without changing its original characteristics. As a result, the images are much less heavy.
Finally, Lightroom does not have Photoshop assembly functions like cutouts, overlays, merges and features that allow the creation of totally new images.
The indicated is to start the image treatment in Lightroom and, later, migrate to Photoshop.
Illustrator is a design tool capable of developing illustrations. In addition, it is also possible to edit ready-made vector images.
It is widely used in making logos, for example, in addition to all vector aspects of websites, campaigns and printed material. In the case of animations, the ideal is to produce the illustration in Illustrator and then send it to another program such as After Effects – also from Adobe.
If an illustration needs movement, count on After Effects. Him is a video animation and digital video creation program, and we can define it as an “animated version” of Illustrator.
You can create an animation from scratch or import those that are in static vector format. In addition, other important features are:
- creating vignettes;
- creating special effects;
- color manipulation;
- development of graphic elements.
A lot of people end up confusing After with Premiere, which is understandable, after all both tools focus on video editing.
What differs from each other is the type of video: while in After Effects you can edit and create animations, motion graphics and special effects, Premiere works for non-linear video editing.
There are two functions on the platform: Quick, for those who are a beginner, and Expert, for those who already have more custom with Premiere.
In the second function, the editor is able to manipulate specific parts of the video divided by categories such as audio, narration, soundtrack and video.
Have you heard of names like Shutterstock, Depositphotos and iStock? If so, you are already very familiar with the tool we are going to talk about now.
Stock is a service that provides more than 90 million images, vectors, illustrations and other models of images and graphics used by designers and related professionals.
They, in turn, are a great image bank that will be manipulated just in other Adobe tools. See how the account closes properly?
Best of all, the content is royalty-free, meaning you don’t have to pay a license to use it – all without geographic restrictions or expiration dates.
InDesign is a page layout and organization tool developed by Adobe in 1998. It is possible to assemble the entire graphic part of books, magazines, packaging or printed newspapers, for example.
Advances in online reading platforms, such as PDF and e-books, have made InDesign’s efforts also focused on the development of online material.
In addition to using standard layout shortcuts, it is also possible to insert animations and sound and visual resources, for example. After finishing the job, it is possible to export the document in specific patterns for printing, which greatly optimizes the final result.
Dreamweaver is an Internet page editing tool.
In it, it is possible to fully develop or edit the layout of websites without the need to develop codes coming from programming, which makes the work more agile.
Although it is not necessary to program with the same intensity as what would be done by other means, do not think that lay people will not have any work to develop a website: it is indicated that, when using the software, the user has basic knowledge in the development of layouts and programming.
Dreamweaver supports the main languages of the programming market, and automatically creates the codes while the layout is prepared.
In addition, it works with responsive features, making it possible to adapt the site for mobile.
Adobe Acrobat is a set of tools capable of reading or converting files to PDF. Within the main group, the following functions exist:
- converting files to PDF;
- PDF reading;
- produce PDF documents from a physical copy;
- creating 3D documents.
Adobe Dimension is one of Adobe’s most recent creations. In the tool, you can develop and edit 3D products.
Even though other company tools already allowed the creation of the resource, Dimension came to make the job easier: in Photoshop, for example, it is necessary to have deeper knowledge in editing to produce similar content.
The layout is simple, intuitive and provides a great 360º view of the graphic pieces. In addition, the program itself suggests the lighting and reflections of the product, which makes all the difference when it comes to thinking about the final result.
Finally, another very interesting (and simple) feature is the change in texture: when producing a wooden box and a similar one, but in plastic, just click and the result is ready in seconds. In other programs, the process would be extremely manual and complex.
Knowing and mastering the Adobe package is essential not only to boost the curriculum, but also to produce quality content and able to keep up with all innovations in a market filled with digital innovations.
